PayPal to Alliance & Leicester failed withdrawal

Hi all,

I've got a bit of a problem with a withdrawal that I tried to make from my PayPal account to my Alliance & Leicester account - if anyone has managed to resolve a similar problem or has any advice it would be much appreciated!

I mistyped my account number when making the withdrawal, so I was waiting for the withdrawal to fail and for the funds to be returned to my PayPal account, but this hasn't happened (it's been about 2 months now). PayPal say that the funds have not been returned to them, after finally accepting that I cannot produce a statement for a bank account with the mistyped account number - that account doesn't exist, that's the problem!. The lady I spoke to at Alliance & Leicester said that they always return funds for failed transactions within 3 days so the money must be in PayPal's holding account. I have asked Alliance & Leicester to look into it, but I must say I don't have much confidence in PayPal since their emails to me often don't really make sense.

Does anyone have any tips?

I would go back to Alliance & Leicester, they should be able to tell you what date they received the funds and what date they were returned to PayPal. Then take it up from there with PayPal.
