    Applied and got pre auth £6400 on a CC but terms only showed normal card not the gold (stragely enough) and in the end I got declined the bank a/c so couldn;t get the CC - bummer :confused:

    so that shows you a HSBC customer got a pre auth limit of £6400 on the normal card

    First Direct is, yes. Not just my opinion either - every banking poll performed for the last god knows how many years also confirm this fact - they are the dogs bollox of banking mate!
