I agree. In fact I resized mine last week and created a new partition to store backups from my laptop. I used to use Partition Manager, but it doesn't work with Windows 7 RC, so I used the built in tool and it worked fine.0 -

All my data is already on D and i only put progs on C: but it really needs me to move the partitions. My desktop is not factory built (I built it years ago) and is running Win 2K so is there an easy and safe way for me to resize C:? I have 4 partitions in total and stacks of spare space on the others.
Thanks.:rolleyes:0 -
thanks for all your replies - i will try and uninstall the game and put it on the d drive and give it a good clean out of all the rubbish on there .
i don't know why acer have the partition so large with so liitle on it ,
my other daughter has a compaq and the d drive has the restore data on it and is only 3-4 gbs big0 -
Not quite the same thing, but I found this handy guide a while back:
http://www.computing.net/answers/windows-xp/how-to-merge-2-partitions/89714.html
A lot of PCs are pre-built with a small-ish C drive and then a second partition, which is not always much use. As long as you can empty the second partition, the above process allows you to remove it and expand the first partition to take up the available space.
I've tried it on two machines, it worked on one, but did not work on the other. Neither lost any data, but heed all the warnings above - make sure you have a good backup of important things, installation disks for any software applications, before you start this.
Remember, though, you must empty the second partition as the above process will delete it and all of its contents.0
