Combining postage costs

Anyone else get this? I have a shop on Ebay and always offer to combine postage on multiple items. I only charge what it costs me to post something. However I get many cases where people buy multiple items but just pay straight away without waiting for an amended invoice, therefore paying well over the odds for the postage. Then I get marked down for having high postage costs??!!
I would quite happily refund the difference, but dont I get charged for this by paypal?
Any thoughts??

If the buyers pay in one go, ie make one paypal payment you can just refund part of it and the fees associated with that part are refunded as well, so you save money.

I do it sometimes on my selling accounts when buyers are quick off the mark, I just refund a small part and explain that I am able to recalculate p and p as I can post the items together.

Just make sure you refund from the original paypal payment and don't just send a new payment and you will be fine.

Find the transaction (easiest by clicking through from ebays "view paypal transaction" bit- if you didn't go through from there you'll need to click on "details" on the paypal account page) and then at the bottom there is a issue refund link. :)
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

    Can I just ask......

If you sell 3 items to a buyer from 3 seperate auctions (or buy it nows) and give them a combined postage price then post all 3 items together in the same parcel can they do a INR dispute for 2 of the items because you as the seller will only have a tracking for 1 parcel, not 3?

Is it best to send each item seperately to cover yourself?

    Thanks

It isn't the amount of purchases that matters it is the amount of paypal payments. One paypal payment = one possible claim.

However, if buyer pays in three different transactions then you would need three tracking numbers.
