Army Pension for over 60s

I served in the Army from 1967 to 1976, and 12 years on reserve,
I did not know I was entitled to a pension,so
I filled out a
pension claim form incorrectly about 4 years ago, it was
sent back to me I put it in a drawer and forgot about it.
I found it a few days ago,my question is can I still claim
my pension and will I get back pay., and does anyone have
any Idea of the sums of money involved,
I am 66 years old now.

I have just spoken with my brother who is a war pensioner and is quite up on all of this.
He said if you joined the Armed Forces Pension Scheme 1975 (commonly referred to as AFPS75) then you may be entitled to something once you reach 60 years of age.

It is worth trying anyway even if you think you were not in the scheme because your service took you into 1976 (ie after AFPS75 started).

Give the Service Personnel and Veterans Agency a ring on 0800 169 2277 and see what they say.
