Am looking for driving directions ....
Driving down from Manchester on Saturday morning (ending up on the A483), heading for St Mary's Cathedral and the adjacent Catholic Club, for a family wedding. I'm guessing it's best that I turn off onto the Mold Road to head into Wrexham.
Firstly, anyone know if there's parking at the Catholic Club? (The family aren't being very helpful with this!) Am I going to be able to turn right across Regent Street into the carpark (if one exists)? If not, where is the nearest parking, obviously I'll be there for a few hours ....
All help gratefully received, whether on forum or by PM
Thanks muchly in advance

*waves* I live in wrexham!! (some of the time anyway!)
Do you have a satnav? Sorry I can't post a link cos I'm still too much of a newbie.. but if you google 'st mary's cathedral wrexham' then the google map will come up, with the postcode LL11 1RB.
Not sure about the catholic club, but if it's adjacent to the cathedral then you should be able to find it!! I agree with your plan to go down the Mold Road, it turns into Regent Street which is where the cathedral is anyway... and if you can't find parking in the cathedral itself, there is indeed a multistorey right by it if I remember correctly - drive past it, then turn down the next road on your right - on the googlemap it's the little dead end road without a name opposite King Street - and it should be down there.
If not, then head for island green - lots of parking there, and there's a pedestrian route up to by the cathedral between argos and the carphone warehouse (although if those shops aren't still there I'm sorry, haven't been shopping in wrexham in a while!). To get to island green, turn right at the traffic lights before you get to the cathedral, turn left at the roundabout onto Watery Road, then left into the carpark. Can't miss it!!
Not sure about turning right from Regent Street, as I don't drive round the middle of wrexham very often - but you can always turn left down Grosvenor Road and turn back on yourself at the next roundabout.
Both car parks are probably pay and display, but at least you wouldn't have to walk so far in your finery! Hope you enjoy the wedding by the way :j0 -
Thank you :j It's useful information like the adjacent multi-storey that I needed to know!
I do have a satnav, but I've also learnt that it doesn't necessarily take me into places the most sensible way, just the quickest or shortest distance :rotfl: That's where local knowledge is a great help, thanks:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Island Green is a b****r to park on a Saturday. If you come off the dual carriageway, you will go along Mold Rd, passing the station and over a bridge. Just before the traffic lights, you can do a left turn. There is a little carpark there. It's supposedly belonging to firms, but they are not open on Saturday. As long as you don't park in the places designated fro a bed shop, you should be fine.
Check incase some new signs have appeared, but we always park there when shopping in 'old' Wrexham, before the recent opening of Eagles Meadow.
EDit; forgot to say that this is right by the Catholic CathedralMember #14 of SKI-ers club
