Parking near Millenium Stadium Cardiff??

I am going to a concert at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff in a couple of weeks. I would prefer not to park in the stadium car park as it will probably take all night to get out!

Does anyone know some secure car parks within 15 mins walking distance of the stadium? We don't mind paying the going rate as there will be 4 of us to share the cost.

Thanks

Might be an idea to go by train then. Only a short walk from Cardiff Central Station. Direct train from Bath Spa.

Yeah I was thinking train too.

Only parking I can think of is at the Red Dragon Centre, but I admit I don't know the area all that well. Tariff found on the net...

    First 25 minutes - Free
Up to one hour - £2.00
Up to two hours - £3.50
Up to three hours - £5.00
Up to four hours - £6.50
    4 - 9 hours - £10.00
    9 - 24 hours - £24.00

Also Cardiff Capitol Centre (which is a bit difficult to find by car - not sure if sat nav directs well to it). Parking is quite expensive in there too though.

red dragon centre is not in the city centre, you'd have a good half hour walk from there.

nearest car park would be at central station - there's a car park to the front (across the road from the stadium) and to the rear of the station. There's also an ncp very near the station. there is another ncp just off of Westgate st which is literally minutes from the stadium (and so also likely to get quite busy).

slightly further out there is the capitol centre car park (horrifically designed but that's it's worst fault) or another huge ncp on dumfries place just across the road. that will take you about 10 mins stroll to get to the stadium.

there's an ncp near the cia which is also quite close to the stadium, but due to building work in the city centre i'm not sure how easily accessible it is (although it's most definitely open).

the other alternative is the pay at meter street parking, but you are taking slightly more of a risk there. whilst i've never personally had any troubles having parked in the city centre, Cardiff does not have the best car crime statistics in the world.

finally, if you are hoping to get into a car park anywhere near the stadium make sure you check the stadium website to see which roads will be closed (if any) for your performmance

    hope that helps!

    Thanks so much everyone.

I have looked at trains but as the concert doesn't fnish until 10:30pm we won't be able to get back to Bath that night. The last train is before 10pm.

I will look into the car parks people have suggested. If necessary we will get the park and ride.

capitol centre car park is accessed via a side street off of churchill way. Can't speak for the daytime charges but parking after 6 (or it might be 6.30) is very competitive by the city's standards. it's very convenient for the CIA, stadium is also just a short stroll away.

churchill way itself is normally good for parking if it's after 6 but due to road re-surfacing half of it was out of action when i was last in town at the start of the week
