Free Laptop Offers?

My father wants to get his first laptop and join the interweb.

I was thinking that the easiest wy to do this was get him to sign up to a FREE laptop deal.

Question is, are there any decent offers out there atm?

none of them are decent

your are far better off buying a laptop and broadband (this can be very cheap)

it will almost certainly save you money over the period of the contract

also, it would avoid the herendous charges for going over your data usage which on mobile broadband is very very easily done(not so easy on broadband)

of he just wants tp go on the net then a simple net book like the asus eee, acer aspire, samsung nc10 or nc20

all of these have models around the £250-300 mark or cheaper if you look

(reconditioned laptops may be an option too as these can go as low as £150)

and then you just need broadband

Totally agree with above post, there is no such thing as a "free" laptop.

You get a free outlay for the laptopbut then the monthly fee with a long contract means it'll cost you more in the long run. For example - £30 per month with a 24 month contract = £720!!!

Unless anyone knows of any "free" laptop deals that are better?

Don't even think about it. If you break the laptop, or it's stolen, you'll still be paying the monthly contract for the rest of the 2 years, as several on this board have found to their surprise. Better to buy one on interest free credit if you must.
