Dodgy maintaince fund and not told of natural spring under house

As far as the management company arrangements are concerned, what did your own solicitor advise you about access to the funds, account signatories etc? Are you afraid that they are likely to run off with the money, refuse to fund maintenance work, or soend iton unnecessary work? They said they didn't want you to sign because they [EMAIL="didn@t"]didn@t[/EMAIL] know you. Perhaps now is the time to keep calm and get to know them, gain their confidence and try to find a way to run your shared freehold for allyour benefit.
As to the spring - is it really a problem - does it affect the value or the structural integrity of the house? Why not contact your surveyor, explain that you feel they missed this and ask them to tell you if it makes a difference to their findings. If it's a decent surveyor they won't be short sighted enough to lie and say that it's insignificant just to cover their backs. In such a situation a decent surveyor would tell the truth and notify its insurers if the truth was that they had missed something fundamental.0
