Stereo suddenly stopped working?

Hi my JVC cd/radio/cassette suddenly stopped playing, the word protect is displayed onthe LCD so I'm thinking circuit breaker?

Can i get it back working again or is due for the graveyard of old music systems? Has power going through but no sound. I thought there would be a switch that has tripped but there isn't any on the system.

Does it have seperate speakers? if it has try disconnecting them and see if the protect goes off.
