I am looking into upgrading to 1 of the above MP3players, but not sure which. Can anyone offer any additional advice?

Is the iPod Touch sound better than the sound of an iPod Nano or is it the same? I presently have a Sony Walkman S Series mp3 which I love, but looking to upgrade.

Many thanks

the ipod sound is pretty universal

as for which of the above its hard to choose

basically the x series smashes the ipod for audio quality, crispness and everything!

i love its sound, and its my personal choice

on the other hand the ipod has OK audio, a good web browser and the app store

whilst the x series does have a web browser this is rather underwhelming

oh and the x series screen is oled and second to none

the ipod looks so grainy next to it!

so for gimmicks, go for ipod (lets face it, thats all apps are no matter how useful they are)

for true mp3 performance go for the x series and save yourself some money too as they are cheaper.
    Back by no demand whatsoever.

People keep slating the iPod for audio quality, but I'm willing to bet they couldn't reliably tell the difference between an iPod and something else in a blind test. The earphones make much more a difference in the sound quality, and if you go for the iPod, you should budget for some decent ones to replace the horrible ones Apple supply.

OLED screens are nice, but don't make much of a difference on a tiny screen. The iPod Touch does have a larger screen though.

The iPod Touch has an awesome web browser and email client, and a library of some 30,000 apps.

Basically, if you're looking for something like an iPod touch, buy an iPod Touch. If you're looking for something different, well, buy something different.

Got to love people who claim to have super-human hearing.

Anything at a decent bit rate and you're not going to notice any difference in sound quality.
