Most Energy Efficient cookers?

Next foray into building our new kitchen: appliance picking. We're following the energy efficiency ratings for picking fridge, freezer, washing machine, but there's no such easy guide for cookers I know of.

Any suggestions as to the most energy efficient cookers around just now - we havent settled the range/wall oven question, but it will be gas hob at least.

pop into wickes and B&Q pick up there appliance brochure they have everything printed with energy effcientcy rate choose product then serch web for best prices. I have found b&q appliance website and boots aplliace website quite resonable. Hope this helps

Picking an Efficient Cooker

Energy labels are new to cookers but we found that those on the models we tested didn't match the claimed ratings. Seven ovens that were officially A rated - indicating that they're in the most energy-efficient category - we measured as B- or C-rated. Even more oddly, another cooker had a C label when it was efficient enough to be in the B category.

So far, the labelling scheme applies only to electric ovens, not gas. And errors on oven energy labels appear to be quite common - a recent government study revealed numerous mistakes. We've passed on our findings to trading standards officers so they can take the matter up with the cooker manufacturers.
