Euro account with "transfer in" facility from Euro Zone

Options
Hi,

can anyone recommend a EURO account for UK residents which offers EURO interbank transfers preferably with low/no fees. I've googled and stumbled upon Citi Euro account, but it's not clear from their website that they accept interbank transfers in EURO.

My situation: I want to receive EURO from my family in EU and then use a FX specialist service to exchange into sterling. The FX Specialist that I was considering using said that the money have to come from an EURO account in *my* name.

Thanks.

There are quite a few people who have a CITI € account and quote the IBAN number for the account to receive money by transfer, which is the most common way of paying in countries such as Germany.

    IBAN (International Bank Account Number)
Please quote your IBAN, which is noted at the top of your Citibank Monthly Statement. This IBAN is for International and European transfers only. If receiving monies from a payer in a European country you should pass your Citibank IBAN to the payer to quote as the beneficiary account number.

Citi euro current accounts can indeed receive SEPA transfers. In a typical Citi muddle, their website does not explain this. It only mentions (slow and expensive) SWIFT transfers, which are obsolete for transfers of euros within the Single Euro Payment Area (the EU, including the UK of course, plus Switzerland). Citi also do UK BACS transfers in euro from a Citi euro current account to a UK bank account (though you may have trouble getting their call centre to understand this). Conversion from euro to GBP is then up to the receiving bank, and is not necessarily a bad deal.
