BLogs - Web logs? Advice please

Hi,

I have an up and running website for a small business. I really need something to update on a daily basis of the changing stock, may only be a couple of things a day with a photo. I thought of the Blogs I have seen around which can link into the main website and vice versa?

Can anyone recommend a good site for building one, preferably free? I have Dreamweaver and photoshop which I used to build my original website with.

Any help much appreciated

I thought of that, but I also looked a weblog which was quite professional looking at it seems all you do is log in, add text and photo and save? where as down and uploading the site always leaves me in fear of something not going right  and then it would be another five years of hair ripping out, to get it right, just like when I first uploaded it. Thats really why I am seeking advice from anyone who has used a blog

    Thanks

Its so easy In just uploading to a site.... I wouldnt even bother with a blog
and If I saw a business blog I wouldnt touch it with a bargepole as I wouldnt
have any confidence as the blog wouldnt be registered on whois.

Dont forget that you should of saved/published the Website to disk as a backup
maybe you wanna get some free webspace and always try the site there as a
testing ground before you commit to your real webspace.

Has your ISP have any spare space as mine (blueyonder) do give free wespace.

I'm not so sure. It depends what the website is about, and what it's selling. Maybe not a personal blog, but a company blog (more like a news page) can be ok.

So then you would have a dynamic page saying, Company News or Summet
then its all kept in house and under control unlike a blog that may be shut
over night if it breaches any one of the silly rules....

Not sure I understand you, so correct me if I'm going off in the wrong direction.

A news page isn't much different from a blog, in fact they're virtually the same. Just a log of information usually stored in chronological order. The term "blog" is usually associated with a personal log, but a weblog can include many things.

It all depends upon the company and what they are selling. I can't see someone like Dell needing a blog for example, but other companies may find it beneficial.

But why another external site or a blog at all any website worth its salt
would have a page set by for sucj add-ons to the main site a page or be it
a site within a site.. I mean keep it all under one roof.
