Unidentified network

I have just connected a Netgear WNR2000 to my Virgin broadband and am having problems connecting to the net. It comes up with an unidentified network and fails to connect. The problem is not there all the time but is annoying when it happens. I have 2 laptops connected and is the same on both. The problem solving diagram shows the fault to be between the router and the net. I had a buffalo router prior to this which connected OK. Anyone any ideas as to what the problem could be.

my mate had this problem when i installed a belkin router on his network. i solved it by cloning the MAC address of the PC's network card into the router.

in your case, you will need to clone the mac address of the buffalo router's WAN port into the netgear router
