Tomorrow its the weekly £5 in the collection box at Church then nothing else as we're having a big family meal out so the oldies can pay for that.

Phil - my parents have got little boxes of envelopes in their kitchen for regular donations to the church collection and the envelopes get them gift-aided.

If you're not already doing something similar than might this be something that you could look into for your church so they get added value?

(Not a great explanation as I don't know exactly how it works, but could find out from aforementioned parental units ;))

My first and probably only no-spender of the week today.

I've got a +100 points on Fairtrade goods at Tesco that expires tomorrow. I'm now cursing that I've left it till the last day and will now have to go there but the intention was to get a Fairtrade bouquet for Mum. (Intention is wavering now as I do suspect the price has been bumped up - thks for seconding that thought Nabowla! - and a gorgeous pot in my cupboard is looking at me and saying 'posy' instead!)

Spent £4.99 on some soil for my seeds..money well spent as far as I'm concerned as I save a fortune on fruit & veg :D
  • Well I went a bit mad today, but nothing I won't be able to pay for.My credit card bill always finishes on 24th so this will actually go on next months, I'm writing it down in my book so I remember it's been bought.
I spent £54 in M and S on some flowers and chocs for Mum, a new pair of pyjamas for daughter as she is going away with school on Monday, and 2 new items of underwear for me!( I know I could get them cheaper elsewhere but there are some things I won't compromise on amd M and S undies are one of them!)
I then went and spent £34 in the food dept. for a Mother's Day tea tomorrow, but that came out of the food budget.
Then we popped over to Next and I bought daughter some new clothes for Easter , but again they will be paid for as soon as the bill comes in, so none of it will make any difference to getting this debt gone as soon as possible!

Just popped the wee one into bed - noticed his jammies are getting a bit short in the leg - but you know what?? Only he and I ever see them so I'm sure they will last a good while yet. Come to think of it I could always cut them off into shorts.

Managed to cook a "high Tea" for my Mum tomorrow - all out of bits n bobs from the cupboards and freezer so no cost there.

Counted out all of my coppers this morning and bought 3 X 9V batteries for my fire alarms. On my own with my wee lad - so no way I'm not having them operational. Stood for what seemed like ages until the 16 year old on the hill got her head around the dealing with "proper money" instead of swiping a card.

£7.50 spent today - but looking at the wee man asleep i n bed (with his short jammies) well £7.50 well worth it of rmy peace of mind :-)

Got a squirt of bubble bath left - so off to have a spa for one -- lol

So with you on the M & S undies thing Minty!! Have never bought them from anywhere else and as they last so long don't have to buy them very often. I usually get M & S Vouchers from my brother as he knows that's where I buy my smalls and is too embarrased to buy them for me!! Bless him!!
