Banks don't work weekends and I think it would be a major over haul for UK banking to do this. They don't process anything over the weekends so it always dated the next working day.
Trust me the 1st of the month is beatch because most of the UK gets paid on the last working day of the month or the 1st and guess when most people d/d and s/o going out?0 -
In my Alliance and Leicester current account, I have several DD's that have taken the money today and are showing payment on the 1st June.

Banks do anything internal over the weekend, it's only things that involve one bank to another where they go out on the following working day.0
