Hi All

Pretty handy myself and sparky by trade but sick of paying for a brickie !!!

I do everything else myself inc footings etc.

How easy is it to pick up this skill ?

Are there any intense 5 day courses available in Cardiff/Swansea area ??

Cheers

  • It's not that difficult to learn the basics but facework, heads, quoins etc take a lot of practice. Foundations are mainly blockwork so relatively easy. The best way to teach yourself would be to get a brickwork book, 100 or so bricks and 5cwt lamatex. Lamatex without cement doesn't cure so just follow instructions erect a wall knock it back down clean of the lamatex and start again and again and again. When you can build a quality plum and level pier your well on your way.
