Has anyone noticed the lack of publicity surrounding what happened? I suspect hundreds of customers must have been affected, having cards refused at checkouts, unable to exit car parks etc.

Think there are only one or two articles in the specialist press (like this) but its a pretty rare event..

My dad couldn't get money out from cash machines on Sunday so we checked his online account which was accessible and giving valid account balances. I sent a short letter of complaint on his behalf from the website and yesterday he received a call to say he'd get £25 goodwill/compensation. :beer:

Theregister.co.uk also had an article about it about two or three hours after my dad experienced the problem with the cash machines.
