Norton Security

My subscription ran out on 12/5; instead of renewing online I purchased a Norton Security Product at PC World saving £15. Since I put the new product on I am kicked out of Norton every time I log on.

I have spent hours on their Live Chat process only to be told that a researcher will contact me - no one has. Has anyone else had this problem? I dread logging on and don't feel safe using my PC

Any advice welcome.

Thank you
Helen

Problems can occur when Norton is not uninstalled properly, also when you are not replacing a like for like product, say trying to replace Norton Internet security, just with Norton Antivirus.

You need to completely remove all traces of your existing Norton product before installing the one you bought from PC Dixon's curry world.
To do this you need to download and run the Symantec Norton removal tool which you can find here.

    Then install your new programme.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

I went into Control Panel and uninstalled everthing to do with Norton - I think I have resolved the issue. The live Chat facilitiy with Norton is useless - I spent approx 4 hours over 2 days trying to resolve - at no time did they suggest this or indeed when they were linked remotely they did not do this. I wonder if they hoped I would abandon mission and download again online paying a further £45?.....................I was getting close to giving up and going to another company.

    Thanks for your help

    Regards

Unfortunately that does not uninstall everything! Use the removal tool that they provide for the job.
