They rock - but for the extra money i'd look at either the £320-ish 3G model from Asda, or the N110 for the added battery life etc.

It depends how you would define 'Good' - Does the job or sings and whistles while doing everything it possibly can do...

Some would argue yes, but others no. There was a netbook review on TGS a few weeks back, in which (I think) the NC10 came out top. Why not check out reviews on the net of the NC10 and it's competitors (Dell Mini 10, Acer Aspire One etc etc.) then you will have a greater understanding of the functionality of these netbooks and how their performance relates to price.

I've had the NC10 since December, and I love it.. for the most part. It does everything, the keyboard is just perfect, and the screen size is great, good weight, fits in a shoulder bag and I can cart it round babysitting/college, can use it outside in the summer because the screen is bright and glare-free enough, and the battery lasts on average 4-5 hours, with bluetooth and wireless on, whilst surfing the web, and on msn. The only problem I've had with mine is the wireless network... This was a well known problem, but most people found the updated driver fixed all their problems. It didn't for me, and so it's off to get a new wireless card next week, which will leave me without it for a whole week! Overall though it's great, I've just been unlucky in getting a dodgy wireless card!

I've had one since end of Jan and am very happy with it. I didn't want a linux machine and wanted something with a decent battery life. I can vouch for the excellent battery life! Paid just under £280 from Dixons (using codes/cashback) which I felt was a decent deal. Nice and portable. Good clear screen and keyboard is easy to use. Certainly copes with everything I need, but that's nothing intensive, basically browsing (though often have 10 plus screens open), emails and spreadsheets (downloaded openoffice). Only downside is the very occasional hassle if you come across a site that assumes you have a bigger screen and there are no scroll bars so you can't see the bottom of what you are viewing but that's the site's stupidity not the netbooks fault!!

    Hope that helps

Look for the Asus eeePC 1000HE - well reviewed everywhere (eg by Personal Computer World), amazingly-long battery life. Here's a black one from Amazon at not much more than £300...

Yes the NC10 is an excellent machine. My boss has one and asked me to help him when he had a wireless problem at his house. These machines are known to have issues with certain Netgear routers. But I tested it thoroughly in our office and at my house and could not find a fault with it.

The Samsung technical help line is free to call and their techies are pretty good.

But more than that my wife fell in love with the NC10 when I was playing with it at home and I am now being ressured into buying one for her!
  • I bought an Acer Aspire One, refurbished from dabs.com for £119, added another 1GB memory from Crucial for £12 and I love it!
  • Can anyone help please, I bought this Sansung NC10 from Amazon on Sun & it was delivered today.
I have gone through the registration part, now its saying ..
Samsung Recovery Solution III User registration complete, the system will be restarted to complete the settings.

It then restarts, and the same window pops up again, and again and again? I have switched it off and left it, but then when I turn it back on again a window pops up saying..
EAccess violation, so I press ok and then the samsung recovery window pops up ?
I really need it to go away with - tomorrow!
    thanks!
