Halifax let me use my debit card in 5 shops and then charged me £35 each transaction

    if you know you are gonna get charged per transaction and its absolutely necessary to spend.
    just take out one larger amount of cash... even thats what my bank advised me to do when i was swamped in charges and past my agreed o/d.
    no wonder the OP has not posted since... bet they feel like naughty schoolkid.
