Just worked out how much I've made (after fees and postage costs) during March and it's £46.80 so far with one thing on there finishing today and a couple more things about to go on now - I'm very pleased :j. Not done too well with Amazon this month but haven't had anything new to add and have sold a few things through work so total is currently £62.10 :j :T and I think I might make £75 by the end of the month

My target for April is going to be £60 - I have a box of car boot stuff, wonder when I can do my first boot sale of the year ;)
    Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000
Initial Mortgage free date - January 2058
    Mortgage as of 1st February 2024 - £159,134.98
    Overpayments to date - £79.62
Current Mortgage free date - January 2058

    Hi everyone!
I'm going to start the pin money challenge properly from 1st April. A realistic target for me would be £10pcm as have already cut back quite hard following OH's redundancy last year. Could anyone point me in the direction of a possible provider they use for banking small amounts? Many thanks.

My plan is to use the money for treats like family trips to the cinema or for lunch out sometime.

With a bit of luck and a following wind I should be joining this again this month. Fallen off the wagon a bit during the past few months but should be able to start making savings again.

Not sure if it is pin money but I had to tell someone - am soo excited. I've just had my 6 month royalty payment and it was nearly £2800!! :j It isn't usually anything like that much (it's for a text book not a best seller! :o ).

But it couldn't have come at a better time - with our unexpected water/gas system disaster last month costing the best part of £10K (which we don't have) to fix  - this will really help! Phew.

    Hi

Already had a couple of bargins in boots:

Huggies nappies 3 for 2 so saved £8.50 (will keep my little one going for a month) so an actual saving. Plus I got a £5 voucher for the skincare product I bought - would have needed it sometime this month so got £5 off that and then got another £5 voucher as I had spent over £10 again so got a handcream that I would have needed so saved another £5 - total £18.50 in one shop plus triple points on the huggies (not sure if that counts lol). Pleased with my start.

Thanks for this moiracam - I hadn't thought of including my Boots voucher savings in my pin money. No idea why it hadn't occured to me. That increases my savings by £11.
I'm absolutely thrilled with what I've managed to save up to the end of March, it totals £187! I haven't done much that I wouldn't have done anyway, it includes BOGOFs, reduced items, my co-op dividend vouchers & a massive £39 in copper & 5p's but I LOVE seeing how it mounts up.
My DH is a bit cynical about some of the small savings I make but even he's impressed with the amount I've put into the savings so far,m especially as it's going towards something he particularly wanted - the new patio.
Queenie - Thanks so much for keeping this thread going. As I said, I haven't done much differently but watching it mount up gives me a real buzz at the end of each month.
Right I'm off to write the £11 down on my April savings - WHOOPPEE.

Congratulations ladywood - WOW - I had no idea we had a distinguished author in our midst - I'm seriously impressed.

:o Thanks Dobie - but not exactly JK Rowling ;) - it is a text book that I wrote about 10 years ago and has been ticking over in sales (through new editions) since then. Usually get up to a thousand pounds from it (not to be sniffed at but not going to pay off the mortgage either!) - so this one was a big surprise and at just the right time for us!

Going to start the pin money challenge from 1st April. Planning to go to Vegas next April so this will help the funds. Will start with £20 target for this month. Hopefully I will become more aware of what I'm saving with coupons etc and can start to earn more each month.
