Bought an e-bay item, not as described on collection

Bought a car on ebay, but on collection found it was an insurance write off with a mileage discrepancy, and no V5 - not mentioned in the advert. Seller claimed he didn't know, but accepted that we wouldn't go ahead with the sale. He then relisted and sold it, private sale so not a clue if he was honest on the second sale.

He has now raised a request to cancel the transaction with my agreement on the grounds that I don't wish to go ahead with the purchase. If I accept this does it affect my e-bay rating in any way? Given that he lied I fail to see why my feedback etc should suffer.

Thanks

No it doesn't affect you at all, it just reclaims the seller his otherwise lost fees.

Thanks both - I shall accept then. Just wasn't sure if it registered as a strike for withdrawing a bid or something.
