Mortgage rejected because not using HSBC account

I might have done biggest mistake of my life. I got current account with HSBC, which i dont use at all. Its just inactive. £100 in this account from last 3 years and no incoming and no outgoing...

I have got account with another bank which is my primary account and all pay goes in this account and all bills come out from same...

Then i applied for a mortgage with HSBC and was rejected because a mark of 'NIL credit' is set on my HSBC current account. I don't really understand this mark but what is the way round?

Obviously my credit report is good with no negitive thing... No loan outstanding and never faild to pay cc bills etc. reg for electrol roll.

> How can i sort this out and get mortgage with HSBC?
> Should i had closed HSBC account?
> Should i now close this account?

Many thanks in advance.

When you got your three credit reports were they all "Good"?? In the unlikely event that you don't have the three reports already then please get them, read, learn & inwardly digest & then post again.

    Cheers!

to get credit you have to show that you can handle money - by putting money in and taking it out of bank accounts and credit cards - you failed to do that on HSBC - why can't you apply for a mortgage with your other bank

but bear in mind the more failed mortgage applications on your credit file the worse it is for your credit score

if you plan to use HSBC in the future - start putting money in and out on a regular basis
