Whats the deal with it?
Do you have to buy a ticket from national rail for this? lets say im at victoria, and need to get the airport. on the official gatwick express site they are telling me 18 quid single, where as on first great western its 7.50.
are they different routes etc?
cheers

Don't waste your time, get the normal train Southern rail, if you book on line it can be as little as £1. It goes from platforms 16 -19 at Victoria and takes 20-30 min longer it stops a Clapham Juction and East Croydon, but loads cheaper.0

Book on Southern's website for the cheapest tickets. But to correct lottebear, the cheapest tickets are from £3, but you must travel on the train you are booked on. Oh, and the journey is only 1 minute longer then the Gatwick Express.Did you really mean to put loose?
Lose: no longer possess, not to retain, unable to find
Loose: not firmly or tightly fixed in place0 -

The £7.50 fare will not be Gatwick Express - it will be a Southern train. Same line, a little bit slower, probably a few stops on the way.0
