Good look with your sale. As you have correctly determined these are scams, it always amazes me that the one thing these emails seem to have in common is bad english and grammar you'd think some scam artist would of cottoned onto the fact that this is a dead giveaway.

They might as well just say: Give me all your monies thank you please!

You would have thought so, wouldn't you.

    ( Sorry, I couldn't resist ).. :D

I had the exact same email as 'mrposhman' - from Mrs Robinson. I put my car on Autotrader last weekend and got 3 different scamming emails in a couple of days.

It's really starting to annoy me now - fingers crossed I get some genuine interest soon as I'm not doing very well so far.

Once you have received one, you can spot these scam emails a mile off, very frustrating I find.

    Ggrrrrr.....

It could be a genuine offer from someone who works in a HSBC call centre?

The use of English is very similar.....

Seriously though, why do they still bother? I guess enough sellers still fall for it to make it worth their while.

The best one I saw was the reverse of this from a supposed seller, who:

"Have a problems with my mobile, please use email sgtxxxx@xxxx.com "

and claimed to be selling a two year old Audi TT for about £5,000 and needed a quick sale (via Western Union of course) as he was being posted to Iraq or Afghanistan.

This, as the email address suggested, was because he was a Sergeant in the SAS!

Yes, the most secret of elite military organisations.
