EDIT
A closer look at that section reveals several Ringback charges which have "No further detail" by them, so they are not included in the total at the end of the list of all the calls, but are listed at the site of the "Cost of calls" title. This appears to be where the rounding takes place. Now I'm confused because the BT Price List doesn't appear to tie in with what my bill says.0 -

And only a few days after they again got some gullible Times or ST journalist to repeat their PR that the gloves are now off as far as price competition goes0

Just had our quarterly bill and I read this from the enclosed BT Update:-Minimum call charges
From 30th March 2006, the minimum call charge of 4.2p excl VAT (5p inc VAT) changed to 4.6p excl VAT (5.5p inc VAT). This charge applies to national (inland), international routes, fixed-to-mobile calls and premium rate calls.0 -
Obviously BT uses Gordon Brown's "creative accounting" methods (4.6p + 17.5% VAT is 5.406p, NOT 5.5p).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
