AVG on Parallels?

I've bought the MacUpdate bundle, mainly for parallels, and installed a Win 7 64 bit system. It's all in and working fine (I know it will expire in about a year but that should be good enough for me to see how I like it).
My main question is, should I install AVG? On a normal PC I definitely would but this is my first step into virtualisation
One other thing, I chose the initial config as the more or less standard Win 7 experimental which seems to use 1 core, 1GB RAM and 32GB HDD. Should I enable 2 cores and would it benefit if I did?

grab avira antivir - i'm using it on a Win7 VM now with no problems. it would be best to install some a/v software just incase.
my 32bit Win7 VM runs fine on 1gb ram & 16gb hdd, but 64bit Win7 does need more HDD space though. it should be fine running on one core but i'd only put it up to 2 if performance was rubbish (bearing in mind i have a quad core machine)0 -

Thanks for all the replies. I'll give Kaspersky a try as it's what's on my desktop PC.Space for rent, apply within - Free trial on Thanks button though0
