I would like a teach yourself Spainsh tapes books etc.
Not too expensive, but I think it would help if I had some recommendation first?
Has anyone any ideas?
And I think this is the most appropriate board to put this on. I couldn't see anything better.

I can suggest free options:
- there is are a couple of spanish leaning podcast at itunes from the university channel. I think these are Open University.
- the BBC also does Spanish in its Language zone. So lots of resources for leaning spanish. If you catch the BBC learning programming, they feature several nice language courses. One I have used watch is Suenos.
Not so sure about paid options.0 -
You can get started for "FREE"
Some usefull links www.budgetflyer.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/lingo.html
I can however recommend Marcus Santamaria´s courses at http://www.spanish-is-easy.com/
Ive bought several of his courses.Very thorough but very easy0 -
If your looking for software you can try Rosetta stone (purported to be the best language software) or Dragon NaturallySpeaking - purported to be very easy to use0

I would second the bbc site and it has links to the learning zone to record the tv shows.0

There is a really good website called https://www.notesinspanish.com
They have free podcasts so you can learn for free, but they also offer the transcripts for a small fee. They live in Madrid. The man is English and the woman Spanish and it's a really fun and you learn lots fast! They have three levels, beginners, intermediate and advanced! You get to know lots of different useful phrases, it's much better than text books! I really recommend it!0 -
why not borrow from the library. I learnt spanish at school but its a bit(!) rusty so i borrowed tapes from the library before our holiday to brush up. Might be worth trying this out so you know whether it works before you before you buy.

I think earworms are brilliant if it is just a few phrases and how to order food and drink that you want. I've tried the french and Italian - the french acted as a revision as i did it at school.
The library could be a good source. I occasionally watch foreign films through sofa cinema, which might keep your interest levels up.0 -
There is something called Coffee Break Spanish on iTunes - I think you can also get it from www.radiolingua.com . They are free and absolutely brilliant! I am using these podcasts to learn Spanish at the mo, coupled with books and CDs borrowed from the library.OU Student! - ED209, SDK125, DSE212, SK124, DSE141, SD226, DXR222, DD303, DD307 = BSc Psychology0

Bit late - but you can get the Michel Thomas 2-CD Spanish intro course (RRP: £15) free with the guardian and observer this weekend. It's fab. Plus the other courses are half price at www . michelthomasoffers . com0
