Alliance and Leicester - DD fee ! My first bank account

Hello all
I recently opened my first bank account with AL(Premier Direct Account).
As i did not start paying my salary into the account,Alliance and leicester opened it with no authorised over-draft limit.
Anyways i foolishly set up a direct debit but unfortunately did not have enough money to cover the £14.99 payment.
The upshot is a £25 payment-review fee and a £30 exceeding OD fee!!.
To avoid any further charges I have paid up all of it.
Am I eligible for a bank claim under these circumstances or is there a chance that I can ask the bank for a refund as a goodwill gesture?
Please advice.
Swetha

presumably the reason is that you feel that the charges are unfair - is that not the reason? If you will the end, you must will the means.0
