Is it recommended to have a hidden partition?
if not,
can you please tell me how to recover [remove] it?

yes most definatly
the take the place of those old recovery discs
which means if something went wrong, its all safe inside the partition, however some are not directly accesable and merely require you to burn your ow discs so if you have not done this do it asap!
no end of people on here trying to find recovery cd's because they couldnt be bothered to make one
as for deleting them, theoretically its possible, although i dont know anyone who has practised it, but its a rather large pain in the a** as the partitions are usually hidden and appear before the C partition in disk management so in order to format them and recombine them with the c partition you must wipe both partitions fully which in the end will give you a system with an empty hard drive and nothing else
no os
no recovery partition
nothing
so just keep it
theyre useful!`Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
I make an image of my OS X install DVD and put it on a partition on an external HDD. It's a lot faster reinstalling from a Firewire HDD than from a CD/DVD (took me just over 5 minutes to reinstall the last time I did it).
I don't really see the point of a recovery partition on the same HDD as the OS is on though, aside from saving the manufacturer some money.
If your drive dies, it's going to take your recovery partition with it.0
