I know this is a bit of a rant but it does get my goat, and is particularly relevant to this forum.

I'm a relative newcomer to these parts, but it is only on a rare occasion in the last few weeks that I see an OP come back and report as to how they got on having sought the advice of individuals on the forum.

It doesn't take much does it? It is simply reassuring to know that:
  • the advice is valued,
  • on occasion taken up and followed,
  • and hopefully successful.
  • (and if not successful - why not!)
(that being said, there's one OP who keeps going on about his b####y TV, I'd exclude him from this post!;) Bring on the flames!)

Agreed, I've been reading though a lot of old posts and would love to know how some people got on.
If they took MSE advice, and did it work ?

Whilst I agree with your sentiments, I wonder if part of the reason OPs don't return to the board is the dismissive and just plain rude comments that drown out the more-informed and well meaning advice?

yes but even when lets say i and i alone advise someone with helpful advice, and they dont comment back it is rather rude
