I would just issue the claim and take it from there.Terms & Conditions Apply0 -
okay thanks, i wasnt sure if you had to give them x amount of time or something. Also can you add the fee to the claim0

if you submit your claim online via moneyclaim.gov.uk the fee is automatically added to the claim.
It can be worth writing to the person and giving 7 or 14 days pre legal warning if you think they may pay, if you have comunicated with them already and think it would be a waste of your time you may aswell just issue the claim.0 -

You will need to give 14 days notice to the person before sending a claim with the courts. The judge (if it gets that far) will want to see that you have offered reasonable amount of time for settlement/resolution of the issue.
Once you have sent the letter (send it recorded delivery) and 14 days has passed, if you have heard nothing I would submit a claim via https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk
It will cost you a fee (varies depending on your claim amount), which you will need to pay initially but it is refunded if you win.0
