Debit card fee for paying into ISA

I recently opened an ISA and paid in using my VISA debit card, ISA from Barclays, card was Cahoot.

I paid in my full ISA allowance, now I've just discovered the charge - £54!!

Obviously this is extreme, I might have well have no bothered with the ISA, I'll just about recoup the interest in half a year.

So, should Barclays have told me I would be charged for using a visa debit card?

Also why haven't I been charged similarity when using the card to pay off my credit card?

Is this an unfair charge, why does it cost 1.5% and not a flat fee?

Anyway I can get this money back?

Thanks.

The answer is ask Cahoot but if it was done like a cash advance on a debit card then no you cannot claim the money back.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009

Sounds like a cash advance fee of 1.5% which have been round for decades. Its quite normal and to be expected. Although its more common on credit cards than debit cards.
