Help - Urgent Advice needed

Options
last year I decided to try and reclaim some credit card charges. Initially I was going to use a company called PORTAL CLAIMS. I did sign the paperwork giving them authority etc - however the service was so poor I called them and asked to cancel the authority and decided to reclaim myself following the guidelineds on this site. (To be fair, Portal did send an initial letter to Abbey but thats as far as it went)
Subsequently I reclaimed all my charges from them - Portal then realised I had been successful and started to chase me for a fee of around £1500. I disputed this but they proceeded to chase for te money and it resulted in me receiving a County Court Judegement for the money.
I have to admit "burying my head in the sand" a bit and came home today to find a letter from a company called Marston requesting imm payment of teh "debt" plus charges - now nearly £2000
I tried calling Marston but their office is closed - I am out of my mind with worry as the letter stated if I do not pay in full they will execute a warrant and take my goods
Any advice would be greatly appreciated - what options do I have ?? I have no way of findin £2000

I would find your copy of the agreement you signed, along with the terms etc and take it all to citizens advice.

When was the judgement made? And did you reply to the initial CCJ claim form sent to you before the hearing?

the judgement was made at the end of april. i did go back to the court and they sent me (2 weeks ago) a form to dispute the judgement. this requires a fee of £75.

OK, well thats something you're going to have to fill out. If you're on benefits or a low income I believe you can get assistance with the fee.

Try posting on the debt free wanabee board also as there are people on there who can help you too.

I would also advise you to pm Herbie21 through this site, she will be able to give you plenty of info on Marstons and what they can and can't do.

    Good luck
