"Richard Durkin v DSG Retail Ltd and HFC Bank Plc (County Court of Aberdeen, 26 March 2008): The purchaser entered into an agreement with a supplier for a lap top, and paid a £50 deposit, the rest to be funded by a credit agreement. The lap top did not meet the specifications that it was represented as having, so the purchaser attempted to rescind the contract with the credit supplier for the credit, and reclaim his £50. The credit supplier refused to end the contract, and the dispute led to the purchaser having a bad credit rating. The purchaser was entitled to recover £8,000 for the actual loss (£50) and general damages to his credit"0 -
Yes, I found that one.
But there was another thread a few days ago, started by the plaintiff in that case. Unfortunately he didnt include the name of the case - only a link to the judgement - so it isnt coming up on a search. There was talk about whether it would or wouldn't set a precedent in england, and he was going to appeal so that it would.
Unfortunately I cant remember the thread title, which forum it was in, or the OPs username!0 -
Apologies then for my presumption of tardiness then!
Have you tried going through the history of your internet explorer by day for subpages of forums.moneysavingsexpert.com. If not, try this if you can roughly remember when you saw the article but do so before the end of the weekend as it will then lump all of this weeks browsing by day into last week, i.e. 7d worth of browsing under one heading - a lot to search through!
Must dash - appointment with food!0 -
Thx for the idea - which i wouldn't have thought of - but unfortunately the history doesn't seem to 'see' forum pages. Bit odd. Oh well.
Unless anyone remembers...
At least i've got the name of the case, thats the main thing0 -
Are you using IE or some other browser? Each forum post and its page has a different address and therefore shows up in IE.0

Just being a bit picky, but Aberdeen doesn't have a county court. In Scotland it is Sheriff Courts.0
