Your gp or hospital consultant are the people to be asking about this. A web search brought up this info & there is more on the web if you do your own search. http://yourtotalhealth.ivillage.com/patent-foramen-ovale.html
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Your daughter may be able to receive Disability Living Allowance - paid in two parts, care and mobility. She might get both, as the mobility part can be paid to children who can walk, but only for short distances (I'm assuming that she can't walk far because you said she gets out of breath a lot).

If she is awarded DLA, and you get child tax credit, let them know as you credits will increase. The higher rate of care pays two extra premiums, lower and middle rates pay one extra premium.

If your daughter gets middle or higher rate care, you may be able to claim Carer's Allowance, but there are other criteria that you need to fulfill. If you do get CA, this can have an effect on Income Support if you are in receipt of this.

DLA can also trigger Warm Front grants in England (I'm not sure what the schemes are called in NI, Scotland or Wales)
