Use electricitiy at night

Hi is it cheaper to use at night or do you have to have eco7 how do I find out if it is cheaper and what times I will ring but though someone may know

You have to have Econ 7 (or Econ 10, or some other tariff that has more than one rate) which is usually wired in for all electric homes with storage heating. You can opt for Econ 7 if you want it but it's unlikely to be a good choice unless you have something that uses a lot of electricity off peak (storage heaters, charging electric car etc) or use very little during the day but run appliances over night. Some suppliers charge for the change, others don't and the hours vary regionally.

Don't forget on either of those tariffs you pay more for your daytime electricity, so unless you have storage heating it is difficult to make the change worthwhile.
