Does coming out of the army affect car ins premiums?

Options
My son has just come out of the Army and would like to buy a new car. I'm wondering whether no longer being a soldier will mean he pays less or more in premiums?

Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere.

  • Possibly less, but his age and driving history will have a much greater impact than his profession (e.g. if he has had an accident in the past three years, his premium will be high anyway, same if he is under about 30).

Best way is to phone and ask, or try an internet search and change the profession from UK Armed Forces to whatever his new profession is.

From experience, young Service personnel are involved in a lot of accidents as they tend to do quite a lot of miles (weekending), and spend quite a lot of their income on fast cars and bikes.
