O.K. maybe I should know this but hey...............Im a woman!!!!!
Right, daughter has bought a thermostatic shower for her bathroom. It is one that has a kind of bar thing for the controls. It has to go on a studded wall (think thats the term used?) Plumber says it is too heavy as all that holds it secure is the pipes behind the wall, and has suggested she gets the other type (just like a dial) that has brackets to secure it. I can see where he is coming from and bless him he is a lovely chap. Daughter really likes the shower she has got. Is there any suggestions of how she can secure this to a plasterboard wall so it dosent droop, there is nothing worse than droopy controls!!!!

If the supply pipes are exposed in the airing cupboard it shouldn't be a problem to to fix a batton and clip the pipes to it to secure the shower.
The two 'chrome covers' then screw up to the tile which also secures it.0 -
Thanks FG, yes the pipes are exposed in the airing cupboard, I wondered if this could be done but the plumber didnt think so???0

I've fitted quite a few 'bar' showers on stud walls in exactly the manner FG has pointed out, if the holes drilled through the tiles are tight enough it won't move anyway.0

Thanks moneysavingplumber, looks like it can be done then, when we put this to the plumber he said no, will have to put it to him again, he will be back one day this week, she just hasnt the money to go buy a new one!!!0

Also you can inject some expanding foam into the wall cavity, as this will give the pipes extra support.A thankyou is payment enough .0
