As the title says-can it be done?
have googled it with no joy, even rang a seat dealer
I want to collect some tiles I have ordered, plus obviously me & OH need to get in there too-I am sure they will fit in the cargo bay if I put seats down, but will we be able to drive off? The tiles weigh about 450kg
I don't want to knacker the car, and can do 2 trips if necessary.
thanks

If you want to kill the car then yes0

It should be ok. Make sure the weight is as evenly distributed as possible and use the headlight adjuster if headlights are needed0

I would suggest 3 trips to be honest, or it may be easier / safer to hire a van / find someone with a trailer,
your car has been designed to carry if needed 5 adults lets say the average adult is 80 KG thats 400KG what is not designed for is to have all that weight on the rear axel in one shot.If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

600 kg is around 100 stone. You could just as easily have 4x 20 stone people in the car and a couple of heavy suitcases and you'd be pretty much the same weight.0

The payload of a small car like a Ibiza will be in the region of 450-600kg. So tiles + 2 people + fuel + any other junk in the car means that you are at risk of overloading it. The effect could be catastrophic especially an older car - something could give. I would recommend 2 trips. The man without a signature.0

Don't even think about it, your stopping distance will be massive.

The only payload reference to an Ibiza I can find on Google relates to a Seat Ibiza Inca panel van (basically a van version of the Ibiza). It has a payload of 550kg but is likely to have uprated suspension and no rear passenger seat. Most passenger cars have much lower load limits and it can be surprising how low they can be on a supermini. The man without a signature.0

Thinking about it now you should see the kerbweights on the VIN plate or on the door jamb of the car. You need to find out the weight of the car and deduct it from the GVAM (Gross Vehicle All Up Weight). I think! The man without a signature.0
