My daughter bought a kitchen from ebay in January (she has just bought her first disaster of a home and cash is tight, hence the second hand kitchen) It cost her just under a thousand pounds but included oven, hob, extractor and sink unit. All very good names siemens etc. It was sold through an ebay company who sells for the public. Anyway to cut a long story short, she had the oven installed about a month ago when her electrics were being done and it didnt work. Contacted the seller and he said it was working when it was installed in the previous owners house so it could have happened in transit. O.K. so we never followed it up after that. She has just had the plumber in and has asked him to also plumb in the gas hob and the sink unit. Well he has condemned the gas hob and the sink unit, well it should have a waste disposal unit which isnt there, also the taps are leaking quite badly and they are french so replacement valves will cost a fortune. I have just emailed the seller again to give him the bad news!!!! How does she stand here, does she still have rights????? Is her argument with the seller or the previous owner of the kitchen?????

how was it described?, at the end of the day, you bought it from the seller, they are the ones responsible for correctly listing itmoney saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

The description is key, does it say anywhere there are such faults?
Did you pay paypal (in which case maybe a credit card charge back is the only way if they seller won't budge.
Got a link to the auction?Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -
No the only fault listed on ebay was a fault on the larder unit, anyway to update this is the reply I have received back................
Thank you for your message.
We are sorry to hear these issues, this is quite unfortunate.
However we cannot at this stage get involved with any disputes of bought items
at
auction and have been collected already. I assure you however we consulted
with our client when listing this kitchen and I asked them if there are any
issues we should know about. If there where any problems she would have
informed us on the day.
No one would have envisaged these problems, and maybe there was a little damage
on extraction, I do not know unfortunately, I did not remove the kitchen
myslef. However the owner said builders handled the kitchen with care and we
informed you what was happening every step of the way as you know.
I wish your daughter luck and we are sorry you have had this bad luck. I assure
you once again, if we would have known about any problems, we would have listed
them or not included items at all, it really is not in my interest to falsely
list items on eBay.
Please accept our deepest regrets for your troubles

So the seller was selling something that he didn't have and hadn't seen? Isn't that a breach of Ebay rules?
Maybe you ought to point this out to them and the fact that you have their admission of this in their email

Their being sorry is not fixing the problem, how did you pay?Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0

My daughter paid through paypal, it was taken from her bank account0

That is not good, with a CC you would have been able to claim; I guess you've missed the deadline for doing it through Paypal....?Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0
