"I Was a Male War Bride"

    Sounds well dodgy!

Not his best! But still worth a chuckle or two.

    Apologies for going off thread.

I guess I could collate as many details as possible on this couple/the building ... but I really can't be 4rsed. Nobody really cares now. The moment's gone, programmes over... and I am back to scoffing Mars Bar Mini Rolls, on special from Somerfield (4 this morning so far).

How in heaven's name do you stay a size 8 or 10? Or are you really an 18? :p
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

How did the TV programme end? The hotel sold for £450k in the end, which is peanuts for such a large property, provided you can find a sensible use for it.

OK, quick 10 minute look about:

    __/__/05 Bought hotel
__/08/06 They realised they couldn't go on as they would be trading while insolvent
    __/09/06 Closed down/stopped trading
__/05/07 Failed to reach £700k reserve at auction in Manchester
__/01/07 PP refused to rip it down and have 60 new build holiday flats
14/08/07 Visit by planning officer cancelled
17/08/07 Repossessed by Abbey National bank http://www.whitehaven-news.co.uk/1.4669
    __/12/07 Auctioned/sold for £450k http://www.maryportlocal.co.uk/1.201452
    28/03/08 Bankrupt http://www.hexhamcourant.co.uk/1.62571

A clip from the programme when they get a call from the lender saying they won't release the money - and they miss the completion deadline.

    Calories in -v- calories out

Four of those is about 600 calories at a guess, that leaves me about 400 for tea, which is a bag of chips.

    Easy :)

The TV programme just ended.... all the unfortunate stuff happened after the crew stopped filming.

    They blamed a combination of:
    - coach tours cancelled due to bad weather
    - cost of upgrading fire alarms to meet regs
    - increased staff costs (I think they took on more staff, not that their existing ones cost more each)
    - some other stuff I've forgotten now

There are other food items you could try, vegetables and fruit for example. They are nice too. Have you considered those?

Pastures, top sleuthing as always. Your effort saves me watching the programme, and gives me all the information plus more that was not contained. Please keep it up.
