I don't recommend products
For a start i'm not with NPower, i've never done sales so i don't know anything about the different tarriffs we offer. (When in doubt pass them to energy efficiency or customer services) I do collectiosns o that's what i advise on. Got a debt? I can help with that.
I think people realise i'm not doing this on NPower's say-so and that's probably helping a bit. Dunno.0 -
We are still having problems! Npower are still threating to cut off the electricty and deny the engery is no longer with them. They have it on record our tenacy agency providing proof that the person that owes the money has moved on 3 years ago! We got a notice of disconnection today. I am going to fax them our tenancy agreement as proof but is there anyone else we can complain to get action taken agasint them. We tried Ofgem who tell us to go to Consumer Direct who tell us Ofgem are in charge of dealing with electricty companies!0

Do you have an address for your landlord? Write to them and copy to the letting agent asking them to sort the problem ASAP. Also write to NPower complaints department enclosing a copy of your tenancy agreement. It's always best to deal with formal issues in writing.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Both I and our letting agent have advised them the tenant moved on years ago and they agreeded that this infomation is on file but they are still threatning to turn off the electricty because of this debt?!0 -
Have you got evidence that Britishgas supply your electricity, ie have you received/paid a bill or got the letter welcoming you.
If so surely BG can help. Have you told them npower are going to cut BG's electric off. Can they liase with npower?
Good luck.0 -

We have now had a phone call from npower saying they have closed the account for this debtor. But they insisted they had to open an account for us so we don't get any bother. We told them we are with British Gas now but said they had to open an account so we don't get any problems. Is this correct? We got a welcome to British Gas letter and a letter to "the occupier" welcoming us to our new home and saying that both fuels are with them. But we can't find either at the moment!0 -
Hi mrcol1000
I'm sorry that you have had problems closing the previous tenant's account.
I am an npower company representative - if you PM me your npower account details or address, I can take a look into your account details for you? Hopefully we can get this sorted as quickly as possible.
Thanks

Why not ring BG and ask for some details about your account, or ask what the opening meter reading was (you did give them one?)
Another thing I presume npower are talking about the same meter serial number as the one in your property.
Lets hope the npower rep can sort it for you.0 -

We gave British Gas a meter reading and its very unlikely we will go back to Npower (we have been with them for years at previous properties) and will stick with British Gas purely over the way we have been harrassed for someone elses debt.
By the way this is a 3 year old debt. At least one other person has lived in the property since the person who owes the money moved out0 -

So dealing with NPower by telephone clearly hasn't worked. As stated letters are usually more effective, and you have the benefit of a paper trail if you need to take your complaint further.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
