Old Style Remedies

I've just been thinking following DD being stung by a bee!
Are there any old style tricks to treating them - I didn't have to the remove the sting as it wasn't in there. I've washed it with soap and water, she won't sit still long enough to apply a cold compress (as advised by NHS Direct).
She seems happy enough munching her lunch.
But if you ask her about it she shows you her thumb and pretends to cry to indicate pain.

Hi MadDogWoman,
I'm really sorry to hear that your little one has been stung but I'm afraid we aren't allowed to ask for, or give medical advice or natural remedies on this forum so I'm going to have to close this thread. Please see the forum team's post here for more details.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this: Sorry, giving or asking for medical advice is not permitted on this forum as it’s not what this site is about. While discussing medical insurance policies, cheaper ways to see consultants, cashback for alternative health treatments and how to get specific medication cheaper (legally) are all perfectly acceptable we ask you specifically not to discuss what to do in the event of certain medical problems (please see this rule on the Health Board). If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.
