Plus there is a limited supply of houses (in the area I live in anyway) as people either take them off the market because they can't sell, or rent them out.
I honestly can't see this being the bottom of the market I'm afraid.0 -
There's a whole range of charts out there, some of them show what you want to see, and some of them show what I want to see. I think the bull trap is an accurate reflection of the relatively small drop we have so far had, and the smallish bounce we are seeing is the last few punters who mistakenly think the crash is over.
For me it is at present largely an academic exercise, as I have no intention of buying more property until the drops I expect to see have materialised. When BTL outperforms other forms of easy investment, such as bonds, shares, commodities, etc. then it may be time to have a look. But for now, clearly it would be foolish.
tbh - it may be that BTL, or rather cash to let (who would want to borrow - lol) never makes enough of a sound investment deal. In which case the drops may just provide an opportunity to trade up personal property instead.
Looks like win / win to me... but not just yet!
nobody has mentioned BTL except you - you really need to get over yourself on that one...
all people have said is that there has been an increase in prices - nothing else.
the next months may have decreases or increases, let's wait and see.
i'd take notice of Fungus on this one - nobody knows the outcome until after it's happened.0 -

Which is always followed by the inevitable...
I'd enjoy it while it lasts.
sorry Graham - i just thought I'd post those facts up instead of playing the urban myth facts that happen on this forum.
why should i enjoy it?
btw - if we go by your predictions we'd be in serious trouble.
FTSE to 2,200 - i'm still waiting for that to happen.0 -

Love the btw!
It's like you can't write a post without getting a jab in.
Keep waiting. Again, that prediction of a bottom was made BEFORE QE and BEFORE the bank baillouts. If you remember, the markets rallied on the sign of free money. I couldn't have predicted that.....and neither I doubt, could you, as you didnt.0 -

Do you actually have a view on where things are going Chucky? Where you see house prices at beginning 2010, or 2011? You're obviously very knowledgeable - how about you say what you think will happen.
Alternatively you could just !!!!!!.0 -

Hey mewbie, you and Chucky fell out'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0

So the logical conclusion is not to try to predict what might happen or make plans based on any sort of forward looking viewpoint. Simply to report what has actually happened.

So tell me to !!!!!! if you like mewbie but what's got your goat recently?
I remember when it used to be a joke-fest.... who was the wittier man?.... mewbie or cleaver, (I won't say who won most), but for the last 2 months or so you've got a lot angrier. The usual post from you now entails lots of derision and lots of links to graphs of doom.
What's changed for you.... you've changed back to the man you were when you first arrived?0 -
Is cleaver still posting ?0
