Yes they tried to scan the coupon but if most Tesco stores can scan, they all can - it comes down I guess to capabilities and how the staff are trained. Incidentally, the Financial Times told me today they write to all retailers who stock the FT to honour vouchers that have not expired but which show a lower face value - they will be honoured and the retailer will get £2.00, the new price plus 2p handling fee.
