I've had no e-mails since 15th May.

I've continuously called them and they keep telling my there a Software problem affecting customers Passwords which it wont accept. This is getting ridiculous and frustrating now and today there is some further problems and cannot say when it will be resolved.

Anyone else having this problem? Surely I cannot be the only customer

You havent stated which email client you are using, or whether you are logging directly onto their site and viewing your email via that.
I had a problem similar to that last week, when they tried to send me my pin number for the ebilling, they changed my password, didnt work, they sent 5 emails from their server to me and no avail, but, i could send myself an email from my yahoo and gmail accounts. even got a couple of my yahoo buds to email me and that worked. Both through webpage and outlook express, 3 days later, i got told the problem was down to their email server not sending out the email correctly, so was told my pin number over the phone and then asked to change it.
Now the problem I have is that i cant upload or delete files from my homepage ftp, 550 permission denied, my phone call about this simply got the tech to change my password back to the old password, which didnt help, they did send me an email telling me it would be fixed on the 23/05/09, so on the Monday, 25th i checked and still got the permission denied. Problem is on their end, not yours, its not your software thats causing the issue.

our email has been crawling along for a few days.
Sometimes it is sending it twice.
Weirdly when I downloaded using my 3 dongle instead of the broadband from virgin, it zipped along.
Cant be the connection though because browsing still works.
Must be glitches on their part.
DD forgot her email password so i went to change it on selfcare and it wouldnt accept any new password that i tried.
Eventually i set up another mailbox for her with a new name(I could only have one with a number on the end no matter what I called it) and at least she now has email again.

Last time i had trouble it was just because i had to much rubbish on it. I'd been deleteing all the junk mail and theyu had built up so were clogging the system. Once i cleared my account a bit it all worked fine

I haven't been able to access my Virgin mail box for months now. Fortunately I only used to use it to confirm that they had received my D/D payments to them. It kept telling me that either my username or password was incorrect (when I knew that it wasn't). When I clicked on the forgotten your password ? link, I was informed that this service was currently unavailable and to try again later which I did several times over the coming weeks with the same result. Finally I did reach a page which told me to ring an 0845 number. I gave up after that and decided not to waste the price of a 'phone call. AKAIK they will not email you unless it is via your Virgin et.al. email address.

    Thanks Guys

My e-mail client is Outlook Express and I access my e-mail via this or directly from their website. We have tried several new Passwords but it wont accept any of them.

They did say it is their software problem.

    I'm sooooooooo frustrated

You're not alone - we've come across this too. One ntlworld email address (which had been running successfully for years) suddenly had a system password reset. VM are unable to change this, they say they have tried on various systems, and are now having to refer it to their 3rd party software engineers.

We've been waiting 3 months now. Don't hold your breath.
