Getting error message after Facebook

HI, I've got a weird problem. Started out of the blue last week.
After I exit out of Facebook I get that message that reads:
"internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close...." "Please tell Microsoft about this problem"
Then it gives you the choice to send an error report to them or not.
It only happens when exiting FB, no other site and it's driving me mental.
I've done two virus scanns with 2 different companies and not come up with anything. I don't know why it started and have no idea how to stop it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. x

reinstall internet explorer.... or get firefox0

If it were any other program, the easiest thing to do would be to uninstall and reinstall it. However, MS designed IE to be embedded within the OS, so that's not easy to do.
If you are currently running an older version of IE, you could try updating to IE8, which probably replaces all of the executable parts of the program, and so would probably fix it.
Failing that, try another browser such as Firefox. It shouldn't take long to get used to, you can install it without having to get rid of IE, and it can be made very secure by using the Noscript add-on, so less chance of getting a virus from an infected website.0 -

what do you mean its not easy you download it and click re-install :S
IE7
IE8
also if you are using xp make sure you have sp30 -
Fair comment, though I was half right!
I don't think it is possible to ~uninstall~ it - if you choose to remove it as a Windows component, it just removes the menu items and icons, but it's still there. Hopefully a reinstall will work, though.0 -
Have installed IE 8, thanks so much for your help as that seems to have sorted it. Wish I knew why it suddenly started doing that.
Thanks again everyone. x0
